Spirit Week Storms Through Harriton

Last week, Harriton students participated in Spirit Week, sponsored by the Harriton Student Council. Each day, students dressed according to the theme for each day of the week. On Monday, students wore neon and tie-dye, resulting in very colorful and flamboyant hallways. Tuesday was whiteout day for the boy’s soccer team, which pulled up the biggest upset of the fall season by defeating Lower Merion, who at the time was #33 in the nation. Wednesday was Disney Day, where students dressed as different characters from Disney movies, such as Aladdin, Things One and Two, and a host of princesses. On Thursday, everybody wore the jersey of their favorite sports team, and Friday was Red and White Day for the Pep Rally.

At the pep rally, each fall team performed a different act of dancing or comedy, which included a hilarious dance from Sam Schlosser. The boys soccer, girls field jockey, girls tennis, and football teams performed great acts. To end the festivities, the pep band played “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO and “Black and Yellow” by Wiz Khalifa, which got rave reviews from the crowd. On Friday night, everybody came to watch our football team defeat Lower Merion 42-21 on a night full of darkness, as the Harriton student section was “blacking out” Lower Merion. Overall, it was a great week for our Harriton community, and hopefully we will have many more of these days to come.
