Bertucci’s Restaurant Review

The atmosphere was nice with mood lighting that gave us the feeling of being in a fancy restaurant while still dining casually. Bertucci’s brick oven in the back gave the restaurant a homey feel and made us feel comfortable. The major problem we faced was that we waited for thirty minutes to be greeted by our waiter and order our entrees (to be fair, he was waiting on multiple tables and working the bar). On the same note, we were not served rolls or water refills for twenty minutes. Even though the service itself was subpar, the waiter was very kind and frequently talked to us, making good conversation. Hopefully this drawback was an isolated issue, rather than a regular experience for guests.  For these reasons, we awarded the service a 2 out of 5 rating and the atmosphere a 3.5 out of 5 rating.

The food was sensational.  If you are looking for a type of restaurant based off pizza and italian food rather than a parlor, Bertucci’s is the place to go. The tortellini was surprisingly good for traditional Italian fare, probably the only part of the night that was truly an A+. The pizza was fantastic; margarita is one of our favorites, but any choice would be great. The other menu items are not necessarily as good as the pizza, but surely decent. The complimentary rolls were good and provided something nice to eat while we waited for our actual meal. This experience earned Bertucci’s a rating 4 out of 5 for its food quality.

For dessert, as the resident sweets connoisseur, I ordered Bertucci’s Triple Chocolate Brownie Sundae, and having gotten it before, had relatively high expectations. (Well, as high as I could make my expectations for a likely pre frozen, oversaturated, chain brownie dessert!) Needless to say, it did meet those expectations and then some and was definitely worth the $6.99. If I could find any fault with it, it would be the ice cream-to-brownie ratio, as there were too many plain brownie scoops that were left uncoated by the french vanilla topping.  But that would be trying to find fault with the otherwise delicious dessert.  Overall, I would give the dessert a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

For a high school student, the food to cost ratio is fantastic: it is possible to spend about 12 dollars for a filling meal without being disappointed.  Taking everything into account, we decided the restaurant overall rating deserved a 9.5 out of 15.
