Last year’s Mr. Harriton theme. What will this year’s theme be?

Recently, Harriton elected its new student council representatives for the 2017-18 school year: Emma Danz as President, Jack Mendelsohn as Vice President, Ben Feldman as Secretary, Olivia Ebner as Treasurer, and Lauren Levy as Sergeant-at- Arms. The officers are very excited for their upcoming terms and have plans for a bright future here at Harriton. The officers have many goals, such as a $35,000 fundraising mission for Mr. Harriton, a possible fall carnival, greater club involvement in Made on the Main Line, and keeping Harriton more informed. The overall goal for the 2017-18 school year is to maintain a high degree of student council involvement. President-elect Emma Danz commented on student government’s approach to Harriton’s school spirit, “The best way to handle spirit is to hit the ground running. We need to just get people excited for student council from the beginning instead of talking about how we don’t have school spirit, it makes it worse.” Next year’s student council not only has ideas for improving Harriton but also plans for ensuring that its ideas can be realized. The officers want to begin fundraising for Mr. Harriton earlier to reach their $35,00 goal. Working closely with administration will also help their plans reach fulfillment. The new officers want to ensure all the departments and committees are reaching their full potential. Our student council representatives are excited to “bring your ideas to life.” All students at Harriton are encouraged to reach out to the new officers and get involved in student council. Congratulations to the new officers!
