Harriton Cross Country Sets All-Time Record

Both the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams finished their series of league meets this past Wednesday with the best performance in Harriton Cross Country history! Both the boys’ and girls’ teams have 9 wins and 2 losses this season. In addition, the team has been highly successful at regional invitationals including this past Saturday, where both the varsity boys’ and girls’ teams took 2nd.

For the first time ever, both teams are in contention to win the Central League Championship next Saturday at Rose Tree Park in Media. The Central League Championship race consists of all 11 teams that make up the Central League including Haverford and Conestoga, the only two teams to defeat boys’ squad, and Strath Haven who, along with Conestoga, bested the girls earlier in the season. The winner of the Central League is determined by both the Championship race and the team’s overall record, which makes this race the most important one for the team.

In addition to Centrals, the team will compete in Districts the following week where they face teams from across eastern Pennsylvania. This race serves as a qualifier for the State Championship. Only the top teams and individuals in entire state are eligible to compete in the State Championship. The Rams have several top prospects to qualify for States.
