An Amazing Season Turn Around for Boys Lacrosse Team

Over the past two weeks, Harriton Boys Lacrosse has completely turned its season around. Currently, the team is on a 7-game winning streak going into the final week of the regular season. At the beginning of the season the team took some beatings from top opponents in the Central League. As chemistry began to build amongst the players, they learned to play together and win huge games. The boys’ chance at a playoff bid went from virtually nonexistent to extremely high chance. The Rams record is now 9-7.

The winning streak kicked off two weeks ago with a big win against Upper Merion. The Rams took the energy from that game to cross-town rival, Lower Merion, in an explosive victory. Harriton, who had not beaten the Aces in nine years, energetically defeated Lower Merion in an 11-3 blowout. Next the team played a rainy game under the lights at Haverford and battled to a 10-7 win. The following weekend the boys met Bayard Rustin at the 15th anniversary Katie Sampson Invitational Lacrosse Festival where they pulled out a big win in front of a large fan base, winning 11-5. Leading off this past week, the boys traveled to Upper Darby where they met the hard-hitting Raiders, but undeniably took the lead with a 14-3 win. Next Harriton played a home game against the dominant legends: Strath Haven. In a complete showdown Harriton pulled out an 8-7 win, which cemented the Rams as a serious playoff contender. This past weekend the boys traveled far to meet Unionville on their turf. In the hot sun, Harriton pulled out a tightly contested 12-9 win.

As a whole, the team has learned to win, and the boys are more determined than ever. This upcoming week, Harriton faces Central League’s #1 team, Springfield-Delco, on Tuesday. This game could make or break playoffs for the team. It will be a tough game, but the boys are more prepared than they have ever been before. Thursday is Senior Night for the team. Harriton will be playing Shipley School and it would mean a lot to the seniors to have a large fan base. Come out and watch the boys dominate like never before!

GO RAMS!!!
