Harriton indoor track is getting ready for the new season, which starts November 18th, as the team looks to improve on last year’s exceptional season.

The name indoor track appears, in fact, a misnomer, as all practices happen outdoors. Athletes brave the fierce winter elements, evident in the frequent use of the term Winter Track rather than Indoor Track.

The actual meets however, take place at an indoor track.  The Girls team competes at Lehigh University, and the Boys at Haverford College.  Athletes compete in a multitude of events including sprinting events, distance events, and field events. The head coach is Mr. Boris Oden, a counselor at Welsh Valley Middle School, and a former football player.

Star performers to look out for this season include seniors Jan Terwiesch and Tasha Greene, as well as sophomore Kate Kucharczuk. Jan, who is a runner, is looking to improve on his personal records, including a mile time of 4:36. Kate competes in the field events, unlike most other indoor track members. She competes in the pole vault.

Players this year are hoping to make States, break indoor records, and qualify for the Meet of Champs. Get excited for the season, and go Rams!
