Meet Mr. Harriton Contestants Davis Burton and Daniel Seletsky!

Davis Burton – junior

Besides being one of the two males representing the junior grade in Mr. Harriton, Davis is an exciting and intense competitor. But will that excitement and intensity be enough for him to take the Mr. Harriton crown? Come and see tonight!

Davis Burton

Harriton Banner: What is a day in your life like?

Davis Burton: Well, on school days I wake up at six and take a shower, drink a cup of joe, go to school, go to Mr. Harriton, go home and then I sleep. But on the weekends, I like to switch it up. All bets are off, you know?

HB: Why did you try out for Mr. Harriton?

DB: To try and get my ex-wife to take me back.

HB: Do you have a talent that cannot be performed?

DB: Seduction. I tried during my audition, but Mr. Robinson shut it down.

HB: What is your favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far?

DB: I’ve made eight new friends, and one new enemy, Cody Wax.

HB: Who is a competitor to watch out for (other than you)?

DB: Ricky Sayer.

HB: If you could choose the theme what would it be?

DB: US Presidents. We’d all pick a president, and our talent would have to be historically appropriate for whatever era our respective president served in. I would pick Taft, and for my talent, I’d escape from a bathtub.

HB: Why are you the next Mr. Harriton?

DB: That’s for the judges to decide.

HB: What is your favorite school activity, sport, or club (besides Mr. Harriton)?

DB: Mr. Harriton, obviously.

HB: Personal statement?

DB: Always look on the bright side of life…

Daniel Seletsky – senior

Besides being a well-rounded member of the Harriton community, our next competitor is a talented interviewee and a fierce competitor. Will this contestant wow the judges tonight? Come and see for yourself!

Dan Seletsky

Harriton Banner: What is a day in your life like?

Dan Seletsky: You would expect a day in the life of a Mr. Harriton contestant to be full of excitement and glory… but it is not. I wake up every day (way too early) just like you do, and I die a little bit on the inside as I exit my bed. I shower, brush my teeth, get dressed, and I head downstairs. As I drive to prison – I mean, school – I can’t help but notice my eyes struggling to stay open, considering I am what most doctors might describe as half asleep. But after all that, I get through the day and proceed to Mr. Harriton practice. After a couple hours of intense dancing, I head back home. I will usually take a nap for about an hour or two (resulting in me waking up completely confused about where I am and what year it is), then I will complain about doing homework for a while until I actually start it. After that I usually end up “Netflix and chilling” completely alone until the weight of my eyelids is too overwhelming and I descend into a deep slumber, only to be interrupted six short hours later by the screech of my unwanted alarm.

HB: Why did you try out for Mr. Harriton?

DS: I tried out for Mr. Harriton because I wanted to be involved in what is easily Harriton’s most anticipated event. I saw Mr. Harriton for the first time during my junior year and I could not believe what I was missing out on. All of the contestants looked like they were having a great time up on stage and I wanted an experience just like that. I have never performed in front of an audience before and this might be the only chance I ever have.

HB: Do you have a talent that cannot be performed?

DS: I’m a pretty intense skier. I’ve been skiing for as long as I remember and I could not imagine life without it.

HB: What is your favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far?

DS: My favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far is easily the group of people involved. I went in on the first day only knowing a handful of the people, and after a few short weeks I had a bunch of new friends who I look forward to hang out with every day after school.

HB: Who is a competitor to watch out for (other than you)?

DS: It is hard to say with a group like this one. All of the guys are really talented dancers and the individual talents are going to blow the crowd away. The competition this year is unprecedented in Mr. Harriton history.

HB: If you could choose the theme what would it be?

DS: If I could choose a theme it would definitely be movies. I would have really liked to replicate a Quentin Tarantino movie for my intro video. I like his style.

HB: Why are you the next Mr. Harriton?

DS: I am not necessarily the next Mr. Harriton…but for someone with zero experience in the entertainment world, I am definitely going to put up a fight.

HB: What is your favorite school activity/sport/club/etc. (besides Mr. Harriton)?

DS: My favorite school activity other than Mr. Harriton has got to be lacrosse. It has been a crazy ride with my teammates over the last few years.

HB: Personal statement?

DS: Mr. Harriton is not even over yet and it has been an experience like none other. I highly recommend that all of you outgoing sophomore and junior boys find some kind of talent so that you can try out next year. It will be one of the best decisions you will ever make. I hope you guys are ready for an awesome show because it is going to exceed all expectations!
