Parents Heath and Deborah Campbell, residents of Holland Township, New Jersey, have recently lost custody of their three children. They did not lose custody due to stealing, physical abuse, or even unstable homes; the Campbells lost custody of their children for naming them “Nazi-Inspired names.”
Their three children, Adolf Hitler, Joyce Lynn Aryan Nation, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie live normal lives just like any kid their age. In 2008, while Deborah was planning on getting a cake for her son, Adolf, her request was denied. According to Time, their local ShopRite “vaulted to public notoriety in 2008.” The children were taken into foster care and have been living there ever since.
The Campbells did not intend for negative consequences from the naming of their children. They felt that they have the right to name their children anything they desired and that a person should not be defined simply by their name.

In 2010, the New Jersey Family Court found evidence of abuse and domestic violence within the Campbell household. The parents, both unemployed and supposedly suffering from unnamed physical and mental disabilities, have denied any violence towards their children.

Last month, the children were finally cleared of their foster care. The accused abuse charges were dropped but the New Jersey Family Court officials have not listed an official statement yet. The Campbells are hoping to see their kids return home by early December. Deborah shared with Time, that they beg to come home all of the time. As of now, the children’s future is undecided.
