Boys Tennis Season Recap

The Harriton Boys’ tennis team recently finished a successful 2016-2017 campaign, finishing in fifth place in the Central League. In the last match, the Rams ended on a high note with a 7-0 sweep of West Chester East.
The team is particularly proud of beating Garnet Valley this year, as the team was upset by the Jaguars last season. Next year’s captains, Samarth Gowda and Andrew Kofsky, are looking to the offseason to ensure the team will be competing in the District 1 tournament next year.

Leaving the team is captain and varsity first singles player Isaac Goldenberg, along with third singles Etan Ginsberg and fourth doubles player Karl Rickels. The team returns freshmen Jay Ramaswamy and Matthieu Benoit-Cattin, both varsity doubles players, as well as varsity doubles player Bruce Sachetta. The captains anticipate that incoming freshman Aidan Yeilding will immediately contribute in the varsity lineup. While there is a void at the second doubles position, they hope that swing player Ben Abt can recover quickly from a hand injury and fill the spot.

Be sure to congratulate your Harriton Rams’ Boys tennis team for their successful season, and make sure to come support your classmates next spring as they look to make their mark on District 1!
