A Look at The Buffalo Bills and an End of Season Prediction

The Bills started out this season with a bang. They are 4-1 at home but maintain a 1-3 record away. LeSean McCoy has currently rushed for 595 yards and has three touchdowns. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, on the other hand, has thrown for 1,684 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Word just came out from the Buffalo office that Taylor has been benched for rookie Nathan Peterman, the fifth round pick, from the University of Pittsburgh.

The Bills have a manageable schedule ahead. They have yet to play the Dolphins, Chiefs, Patriots, and Chargers. All of these teams, save for New England, are on the ropes. The Dolphins have been struggling defensively, the Chiefs have been going downhill since an epic start to the season, and the Chargers may be without Philip Rivers for several weeks.

Buffalo has not made the playoffs since 1999: this is the longest playoff drought in professional sports. Certainly, this is the year if any.

I predict that with a healthy defense and with McCoy averaging reasonably good numbers, they will end the season 8-8, earning the last seed in the AFC Wildcard round. The AFC is rough this year, as numerous teams – including the Raiders, Dolphins, Ravens, Texans, and Broncos, are still in the hunt with below par records.
