Harriton Banner: What is a day in your life like?

Will Snyder: A typical school day in Bill’s life consists of waking up at 7AM after a full hour of alarm snoozes, and eating a full course meal in the minivan while flooring it full speed to school.  Once I arrive at school, the bell usually strikes and I arrive to class a fashionably 3 minutes late.  However, I learned A days are the worst days to come to class late – Mrs. Weck does not like latecomers. (But she loves me! Don’t be late to class, kids, especially on A days. She will find you.)

Fast forward a couple hours after school when I have Mr. Harriton and a lengthy swim practice.  After these, I arrive at home only to find that dinner is not ready (not to mention it is 9:00) and I want to scream.  Bill gets grumpy when he is hungry.  Once dinner is ready, I am too tired to eat, but then I return to my happy place once I see the food. (I follow the strict Michael Phelps diet–a whole turkey with a side of ham). I then unfortunately realize that I have homework after consuming a dinner for five.

Fortunately, I am a senior, and I go straight to bed, and say I will do my work the next morning during my free. Eating, sleeping, swimming, and procrastination describe my life (and Mr. Harriton, of course).

HB: Why did you try out for Mr. Harriton?

WS: I tried out for Mr. Harriton for a variety of reasons (especially because I am the best and only 200-pound dancer up there).  In all seriousness, I tried out for the show because I wanted a chance to showcase my talents, learn to dance, perform, and make new friends. [And] let us not forget, this event is for charity that benefits great causes, especially the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (a charity that is very meaningful to my family).

So far, I have not regretted doing the show at any moment – each practice I learn something new, whether it is a new move or fixing my mistakes.  I knew if I did not try out for Mr. Harriton, I would regret it, and I am glad I made the right choice by trying out.

HB: Do you have a talent that cannot be performed?

WS: If eating were a talent, I would showcase my ability to down food.  I want redemption from the Wing Bowl freshmen year, as the wings I ate were so bad, a raccoon would turn down the offer.  Of course, our school got healthy and canceled this great yearly event.

HB: What is your favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far?

WS: My favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far is watching Teddy Kotler fall.  He face plants at least once a practice.

My actual favorite part of Mr. Harriton so far is hanging out with new people, especially seeing the talents that you had no idea that that a person could perform.  Mr. Harriton is a great way to make new friends, bond with old friends, and have a good time.

HB: Who is a competitor to watch out for (other than you)?

WS: Besides myself, a competitor to watch out for is the one and only Teddy Kotler.  He recently replaced Cam Newton as the king of the dab – and not to mention, he is fierce and down for a fight.

HB: If you could choose the theme, what would it be?

WS: If I could choose the theme, I would have to pick between movies, food, or a sports theme.

HB: Why are you the next Mr. Harriton?

WS: I am the next Mr. Harriton because my name is Bill.

HB: What is your favorite school activity, sport, or club (besides Mr. Harriton)?

WS: (No response)

HB: Personal statement?

WS: What did the duck say to the bartender?  Put it on my bill. Haha, get it, because my name is Bill…

Nate Rush – senior

Harriton Banner: What is a day in your life like?

Nate Rush: Other than school and long baths, I spend most of my time practicing my poetry interpretation (my talent).

HB: Why did you try out for Mr. Harriton?

NR: Spite.

HB: Do you have a talent that cannot be performed?

NR: Yes.

HB: What is your favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far?

NR: The chicks. Not girls, but the family of chicklets that we have been raising backstage. See more at: https://hhsbanner.com/top-stories/2015/02/27/meet-mr-harriton-contestants-nick-and-jake/#sthash.eU9wS5qP.dpuf

HB: Who is a competitor to watch out for (other than you)?

NR: Teddy Kotler. He is a real swine.

HB: If you could choose the theme, what would it be?

NR: Class struggle.

HB: Why are you the next Mr. Harriton?

NR: I am the next Mr. Harriton because I am, by far, the most talented person in the competition. I am significantly smarter, funnier, and humbler than the rest of the contestants combined.

HB: What is your favorite school activity/sport/club/etc. (besides Mr. Harriton)?

NR: I really love Performing Doobs with Noah Karpel for Speech (even though we usually get last).

HB: Personal statement?

NR: On the seventh day, God had finished his work of creation, so he decided he was going to chill with Squiggly Squaggly Worm.
