This week, Ron receives an award that he is actually excited about. A chair he built is up for a nomination at the Indiana Fine Woodworking Association, and Leslie is hell-bent on making sure he has a great time. Ron, unsurprisingly, is unenthusiastic about Leslie’s own unbridled enthusiasm.
Leslie has already decided she is going to the awards ceremony, but Ron is bent on taking Diane, his new love interest. The three end up going to the event together.
Upon their arrival, Ron and Diane’s happiness is threatened by Tammy II’s sexual advances towards Ron; Leslie once again tries to protect Ron. In the end, the real threat comes from a much more unexpected place.
Meanwhile, Tom, Donna, April and Andy are going on their annual “Jerry Dinner,” which is funded by the group whenever Jerry does something stupid. Ann, upon the realization that they don’t invite Jerry to the dinner, chastises them. Funnily enough, the night they decide to do something nice and invite Jerry to come along, they discover that Jerry is having a huge holiday bash — without them.
At Jerry’s holiday bash, Ben makes an effort to hang out with Chris, who is making remarkable progress in therapy.
This was a very excellent feel-good episode of Parks and Recreation. I would say it’s my favorite episode in this season so far. Watch it now!
Funny bits:
- “I’m allergic to sushi. If I eat more than 80 sushis, I barf!”– Andy
- The introduction of Jerry’s truly beautiful wife, played by Christie Brinkley.
- April’s incredible weakness — does she have an iron deficiency?
