Whenever looking at a new album, the cover immediately affects the beholder’s view of the music. Adventures in Real Time by Dylan Gardner has a very intriguing cover, and one that looks like the music inside would be different. The cover shows a young man (Dylan), sitting against a speaker with his guitar.

On the back cover is a close up photo of Dylan, which is in black and white. The photos have been well photo-shopped and are very professional. The CD itself has a reflective pattern on it, which really makes it unique.

After inspecting the outside, I listened to the music. The first song is called, “Let’s Get Started,” and is a fun and upbeat song, which makes it perfect for the first song of the album. Gardner’s voice is very good, and he can hit high notes.

I thought that this album would consist of slow and sad songs, but instead it’s full of pop tunes. All of the songs in the album remind me of boy bands like One Direction, except Adventures in Real Time is more natural-sounding.

The next song is “Heroes Tonight,” which had the same pace beat in the background, but more diverse instruments and slower singing.

After that, all of the songs blend together–in a good way. All songs are upbeat, fun and well put together.

“The Actor,” song number six, is more solemn and emotional, which adds depth to the album. My personal favorite song is number seven, “Sing for the Stars,” which is a song that could be danced to, yet the words are poetic and meaningful.

Overall, I would give the album a very high rating. Its songs are fun and unique, but still enjoyable and beautiful. Gardner did a very good job with this, and I’m happy that I listened to it. Below is the full list of songs, along with the full title of the album.
