This week’s Parks and Recreation saw a barrel of problems for Leslie in her new post as city councilwoman, where a small tiff over the use of her office’s bathroom nearly results in her proposed Fun in the Sun Bill not getting passed. Chris, who is seeing a therapist, proposes that the Parks and Recreation department run a 3-1-1 line so that the Parks Department can be Pawnee’s therapist, resulting in a frustrated Ron being introduced to a new love interest (played by Lucy Lawless). April proposes that she and Ben take the 10-hour drive from D.C. to Indiana in order to see their loved ones, with rather disappointing results.
Some funny bits:
– Leslie gets a perm in Ann’s absence, stating, “When the Ann’s away, the mice get perms” (an alteration of the saying “when the cat’s away the mice play.”) However, she ends up with only half a perm…
– Councilman Milton’s extra-dressing, extra-crouton, and extra-anchovy daily Caesar salad.
– The soundtracks Ben owns, which he says are “like your favorite directors making a mix tape just for you.”
– Ron’s romantic interest, who loves Food n’ Stuff as much as he does. Enough said.
Consensus: an overall solid episode of Parks and Recreation. A+
