September 24 College Fair
Two weeks ago, on September 24, over 70 alumni from colleges around the country set up in the Performance Gym for this year’s first college fair. During A and B lunches, juniors and seniors were able to visit the representatives’ stands to inquire about their respective colleges’ application processes and atmospheres. The colleges represented ranged from the close and familiar, like Saint Joseph’s University and Penn State, to schools as distant as Wyoming Tech and Rice University from Texas. The fair helped to begin to spark interest among juniors in where they might apply and calm the many anxious seniors stressing about the application process. “The representatives helped a lot by answering my questions,” said senior, Max Hunt, about the fair. “The booths from Middlebury, UChicago, and Harcum were especially helpful and interesting to visit.” Sophomores were invited to come if they were able, but few took the opportunity. The next College/Career Day will take place November 11. For further information about visiting colleges and college fairs, ask your guidance counselor for a list of upcoming dates and times.
