Donate Blood Saturday March 15th, Save a Life
Do you want to save someone’s life? One donation of blood can save three.
This Saturday, March 15, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Harriton is hosting the 2014 Spring Blood Drive. Students and community members are encouraged to give blood.
The Red Cross (an organization committed to collected and distributing blood to those who need it) reported that one of the most common reasons people do not give blood is because they have never been asked. We are asking you—Harriton students, parents, teachers, and community members—to consider donating on March 15th!
Never donated before? Don’t worry; donating blood is a simple, four-step process!
Registration: You will arrive at Harriton, come to the cafeteria, and check-in at the registration table.
Mini-physical: A Red Cross specialist will ask you a few questions about your medical history and check your temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and hemoglobin level to make sure you’re eligible to donate.
Donation: A Red Cross representative will collect about a pint of blood while you’re comfortably lying down. This takes about 10 minutes, depending on the donor.
Refreshments: You will be directed to the refreshment area where you can sit down for 15 minutes, eat a snack, and drink some water before you carry on with the rest of your day!
Sign up and make an appointment by contacting Mr. Fritz (room 234, [email protected]) or any Harriton Service League student officer. Students must be at least 16 years old to donate, and have a signed permission slip. Permission slips are available in room 234. Questions? Do not hesitate to email the Harriton Service League officers at [email protected].
Thanks for your support!
