Your Favorite Recipe can Help Feed the Hungry

Do you like food? Do you like helping people?

Help the hungry by supporting the Harriton Soup Kitchen Club’s Cookbook Fundraiser!

What is the Soup Kitchen Club?

The Harriton Soup Kitchen Club is a community service club devoted to feeding the hungry. We focus on supporting St. John’s Soup Kitchen, which is located in Norristown, PA, and feeds about 300 people each week. We bake for St. John’s after school in the Basic Foods classroom and volunteer at the soup kitchen on Saturday mornings.

Why have a Cookbook Fundraiser?

We have supported the soup kitchen over the past two years through our baking and volunteering. In an effort to further support their cause, we are having a Cookbook Fundraiser, which will raise money for St. John’s Soup Kitchen.

Our goal is to…

  1. Collect recipes from Harriton students, parents, and teachers.
  2. Compile the recipes and create a Community Cookbook, full of Harriton’s favorite recipes.
  3. The cookbook will be available for purchase beginning in Fall 2014. All proceeds will be donated to the St. John’s Soup Kitchen!

We need your help!

Because we are creating the cookbook this summer, we need all of the recipes by the end of the school year! So far we have 75 recipes—our goal is to collect 150. Help us reach our goal! Submit your favorite recipe for publication in the cookbook by completing the online submission form: http://goo.gl/4Y9TXy
