Swinging For Change Gives Back to Local Parks

Looking for a way to give back to the community? Swinging for change is a non-profit community service organization that works to improve parks and recreation centers in the greater Philadelphia area. It was created last year by Harriton Graduates, Gregory Costa and Rochitha Nathan. SFC has already had two events this fall, but it is not too late to join! This is a great opportunity to get involved and give back to the community.

The organization devotes most of its time to volunteering at Royal Gardens in Overbrook. Swinging for Change often takes on projects that involve planting and weeding. In addition, SFC participates in long-term projects, such as painting a shed or planting a vegetable garden. Last year, the club created a baseball field, and painted the Community Center for Royal Gardens.

Events usually take place on Saturdays, from 1:00-3:00pm. SFC will continue to help the community until late November, and will begin again in the spring.

There is an event taking place this Saturday, October 11, from 1:00-3:00pm. If you are interested in joining, please contact Maddie Feldman, Jesse Breman, Nick Johnson, or Dayita Sharma!
