Live Theater is Back at Harriton High School

Harriton Theater Company Presents “The Curious Savage”

Harriton Theater Company (HTC) is an extracurricular activity at Harriton High School involving more than 100 students from grades 9 to 12 in all aspects of theatre. In addition to acting, students in HTC can participate in student directing/management, stage crew, costume, sound, lights, props, publicity, hair and makeup, pit band, and choreography, which are all student-run departments.

After three online shows last year, HTC is excited to perform on the stage live, once again. This fall, HTC has been busy rehearsing, advertising, lighting, sewing, and creating all aspects of the show and are thrilled to share their work.

Harriton Theater Company presents the comedic play, The Curious Savage.  The play will be previewed on November 17th and performed from November 18th-20th at 7:00 PM, with an additional matinee show at 2:00 PM on November 20th.  See the show in the Harriton High School auditorium; buy tickets at the door or online at harritontheater.com.

The Curious Savage, written by John Patrick, tells the story of Ethel P. Savage, a recent widow, and millionaire. She plans to philanthropize, yet her ideas are rejected by her stepchildren. In hopes to have the money themselves, the stepchildren send Mrs. Savage to a sanatorium called The Cloisters. While she is there, she meets 5 residents who show Ethel kindness and loyalty, quite a contrast to her stepchildren. Throughout the play, she realizes that it is with The Cloisters that Mrs. Savage finds the feeling of family.
