Harriton Golf Finishes Amazing Season

Harriton Golf had a strong season right from the start, beginning with a non-league match on August 20th against Lower Moreland. The Rams dropped 192 points LM and were led by junior co-capitans Will Daly and Erik Reisner, who each shot 1 under-par at 34. Sophomore Ryan Keefe chipped in as well with a 37.

The first league match also went well as the Rams dispatched Ridley 199-228. The Rams were led at Springfield Country Club by Sophomore Jack Hirsh and Junior Will Daly, who shot 37 and 39 respectively. Harriton then put away Springfield-Delco at Rolling Green and Haverford High at Merion West to move to 4-0 before a premiere match-up with Penncrest.

The Rams’ first home match at Philly Country Club was a big win for the team as they stomped on the Lions 197-203, once again led by Will Daly and Erik Reisner.

The Rams then suffered their first loss against the eventual league champions Conestoga, but came back the very next day shooting a combined 189 in a tri-match against Strath Haven and District Rival Lower Merion. Harriton’s top scorers were Erik Reisner, Will Daly, and Jack Hirsh, each with 37.

After demolishing Upper Darby in a make-up match, the Rams headed to the Central League District Qualifier and had four players advance. In the men’s bracket, Erik Reisner medaled with a 72, Will Daly finished just 2 shots behind him, and Jack Hirsh survived a 2-hole sudden-death playoff after carding a 79. Eva Jodar advanced in the women’s division with an 83.

The next day the rams secured their biggest win of the season in beating Radnor and Garnet Valley in a Tri-match. This was the first time since 2007 that the Rams beat Radnor. The team shot 191 led by Erik Reisner (35), Will Daly (37), Jack Hirsh (38), and Ryan Keefe (38).

On October 2nd, in their last match of the season, the Ram’s clinched a wild card berth in the District tournaments by defeating Marple Newtown at a very difficult White Manor course. The team finished 11th in districts and Eva Jodar advanced to regionals.
