Boys Basketball Defeats Springfield, Reaches League Playoffs

The Harriton Rams played their final regular season game against Springfield. Thursday was Senior Night, and all five seniors (Spencer Dickler, Tas Dixon, Jake Rosenberg, Alex Shippen, and Drake Friend) were escorted onto the court by their parents as Coach Rappaport reminisced on their journey together. Not only was this the final regular season game of the season, but it also determined Harriton’s playoff fate. The scene was set, and the Rams were eager to get the game started after a lovely national anthem performance by Sophomore Savannah Brown. The Rams struggled to get going early, but a Jake Rosenberg three with 2:31 left in the first quarter ended the drought. Tas Dixon and Jordan Wright followed quickly, each adding a three of their own. With three minutes left in the half, Alex Shippen got three points the old-fashioned way twice in a span of one minute.

The Rams went into the half up 29-16 and never looked back. Spencer Dickler started off the scoring in the second half, contributing another three. He finished with four on the game. The Rams took care of business at home with a win that was less of a victory and more of a dominant performance. Because of this win and a Radnor loss to Lower Merion on Friday night, the Rams have reached the Central League Playoffs for the first time in program history. They will take on powerhouse Lower Merion @ Ridley High School on Sunday night at 7 PM. Stay with The Harriton Banner to follow the Rams through their playoff journey!
