Boys’ Ice Hockey Falls to Garnet Valley in Season Opener
The Harriton Boy’s Ice Hockey team faced off against Garnet Valley in their first game of the season on Monday night. After a hard-fought battle against a formidable Garnet Valley team, the Rams were defeated with a final score of 11-1.
Unfortunately, Garnet Valley’s defense was able to hold the Rams off for the majority of the game, limiting them to only 11 shots, while Harriton’s goalie, Alex Krauss, faced 29 shots. Harriton’s only goal of the night was scored by sophomore Jake Gross with a beautiful shot right over the goalie’s shoulder.
The loss is unfortunate, but the Rams see it as an opportunity for growth during a rebuilding season. Despite last season’s struggle, winning only one game, the team has hopes for a better record this season.
The players are under new coaching staff this year, with Robert Lewis, who also coaches the Philadelphia Junior Flyers, as head coach, and Harriton’s own Mr. Williams as assistant coach. With a combination of new coaches and some young talent, the Rams hope to create a new identity for the team.
Come support them as they try to win their first game this season on Thursday versus Bonner High School.
