Rams fall to Penncrest
On Friday December 19th, the Rams Boys Basketball team fell to the Penncrest Lions 52-46, effectively ending their winning streak. The loss dropped the Rams’ record on the season to 6-1. The game was well attended and was characterized by big performances from leaders on the court. Unfortunately, the combination could not get the Rams’ the win.
Per usual, Harriton’s dynamic starting point guard Jordan Wright turned in a huge performance, with 17 points, 8 steals, 5 assists, and 1 rebound. A sizable portion of Wright’s points came from beyond the arc and near the end of the game in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Rashad Anderson is emerging to be one of the key leaders on the court, putting up his best statistical game of the year, with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist.
Penncrest jumped out to a lead by the end of the 1st quarter, up 10-2, but by the end of the first half, the Rams narrowed the gap down to 20-14. Slowly but steadily, the Lions maintained their advantage over the Rams, leading by 6 at the end of the third. The Rams eventually fell to the Lions by 6.
The game was full of controversy concerning calls made by the referees, with the Herd jeering many tough calls awarded to Penncrest. Come support your Rams as they look to go to get some more wins!
