October 6: Boys’ Soccer Achieves Huge Win Against Haverford
Beginning the week that could define the season, the Rams varsity soccer team came out hungry on October 6 for a win to stop their losing streak. The game got off to a shaky start in the first half, with starting midfielder Benjamin Folds and starting defender Aaron Dickman leaving the game with injuries. Still, the Rams played a great first half as they kept pace with a talented Haverford team.
In the second half, the flow of the game was clearly in the Rams’ favor. They were on the attack, pelting the shaky Haverford goalkeeper with shots. Finally, team captain Felix Serlin put the ball in the back of the net, thanks to a shot-turned-assist from Matthew Leff. From there, despite the loss of Dickman, the Harriton defense was able to stop Haverford’s offense from scoring the equalizer, thus securing the 1-0 victory.
