Zealous for Zoe's: A New and Delicious Mediterranean Restaurant

You may have noticed an eye-catching sign around Pinkberry and Bertucci’s in the Bryn Mawr Square Shopping Center. Having arrived this May, Zoe’s Kitchen is one of the latest restaurants to animate the cuisine scene of the Main Line. The business operates in 15 states and has 2 other Pennsylvania locations, in Newtown and Collegeville.

Though Sweetgreen or Ruby’s will never get old, it is always exciting to have a new restaurant to spice things up. Zoe’s Kitchen is a casual, modern restaurant that makes fresh and healthy food with a twist. It is a soup-salad-and-sandwich place with a unique Mediterranean touch; the perfect place to run in and grab a salad, wrap, or a quick snack.

Some of their choices include quinoa salad tossed with vegetables over a bed of greens, chicken salad sandwich, a variety of pita sandwiches, grilled chicken dinner with roasted vegetables, fresh fruit, and limeade. In addition, for just $30, the whole family can eat a family-style dinner from the “Dinners For Four” menu. At just $7.50 per person, you cannot beat that price easily around here! Whether you decide to eat there or take the dinner to go, it is guaranteed to be healthy and fairly priced.

When I went to Zoe’s for the first time, my family and I ordered the Kabob dinner combo from the “Dinners For Four” menu.  First, they brought us the pita and olive oil appetizer.  Then, they handed us a Greek salad that was better than those at other restaurants. The ingredients were exceptionally fresh and they complemented each other nicely.

Finally, our kabobs with rice arrived. We ordered eight total kabobs – two salmon, two steak, two chicken, and two shrimp. They were seasoned to perfection, and they accompanied the pita, rice and salad to create a complete meal.

When we were on our way out, we could not resist getting in line again to buy the giant chocolate chip cookies waiting by the register.  After we anxiously waited, the moment finally came to devour them. The cookies were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with chunks of chocolate scattered throughout. In my opinion, this was the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

As soon as we left, the first thing we did was to make plans to return to Zoe’s Kitchen.  Zealous, we are indeed. Go to Zoe’s at 761 W. Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr to find out why. Check out the restaurant website to see the complete menu.
