Emily: What music do you listen to in the car? We hear you’re a good driver.
Jesse: …
Tess: Taylor Swift?
Jesse: Mostly just the radio.
Catie: 104.5
Tess: I love that station!
Tess: What’s it like at home? Do you guys hate each other?
Jesse: Yes.
Emily: Could we have an example?
Jesse: No, just kidding, we’re not mean to each other.
Catie: Yeah, he mostly just stays in his room.
Annika: So Katie we hear you sign language!
Emily: Where did you learn how to sign language?!
Catie: I had a counselor at a camp a couple years ago who was deaf, and she taught me the alphabet. And there’s this website where I also learned the first 100 signs.
Emily: So have you ever signed to a deaf person before?
Catie: No not really. I just sign to Jesse, who gives me weird looks.
*Cue weird look by Jesse*
Annika: So you both are runners right? If you could run anywhere in the world, assuming you had unlimited time and resources, where would you run?
Jesse: The Bolivian salt flats, because they are beautiful and when it rains you can’t tell the difference between the sky and the ground.
Tess: That’s amazing.
Annika: If you could pick an animal that describes the other what would it be?
Jesse: Katie is a weasel.
Catie: He’s a reindeer.
Emily: What is your favorite thing about each other?
Jesse: She makes me food.
Catie: He isn’t a weirdo?
Emily: Yes he is.
Catie: Okay, he sets a good example by being calm.
Tess: I see that.
Annika: What qualities do you look for in a partner in crime?
Catie: Quick thinking, and has a rope.
Jesse: Quick hands, and quick on their feet
Tess: So you basically want me as your partner in crime.
Annika: If you won the lottery what is the first thing you would do?
Jesse: I would buy a snowboard
Tess: You snowboard?!
Jesse: Yes.
Catie: …I would put it in a bank account?
*Emily snores
Annika: Okay, one last question. If you could try anything new tomorrow, what would you try?
Catie: I have always wanted to go to the top of the tallest building in Dubai and bungee jump!
Jesse: I would play the trombone.
Emily: Why?
Jesse: Because it’s an instrument.
Personal Statement?
Jesse: Go ahead, Katie!
Catie: After you, Jesse!
