Chris Lasprogata, Newly Crowned Mr. Harriton, Tells All

Chris Lasprogata; if you did not know him last Friday, you know him now. He is that kid with the art skills and great hair who danced his heart out for all the world to see. Oh yeah, and he is the new Mr. Harriton. That title makes him officially the king of our school. But is he worthy of the crown? We chatted with him to find out, and it is clear that Chris is deserving of every last jewel.

Emily: So is it fair to say that you are surprised you won?

Chris: Very.

Tess: Who did you think would have won?

Chris: Ben Appel, for sure.

Annika: So how does it feel to have beaten them all?

Chris: I wouldn’t say beaten. We all work so hard and everybody’s talents were so great.

Annika: Very diplomatic. How does it feel to be Mr Harriton, in that case?

Chris: I’m still super surprised that I have the title, and very thankful that I was recognized for my talent. This normally wouldn’t have been seen. Hopefully this encourages more interest to mix things up in next years competition.

Emily: Yeah, I have talked to people who want to do an art talent next year, so you have definitely inspired people to think outside the box. Speaking of talents, how did you get the idea for yours?

Chris: I really just tried to think of something to get me into Mr. Harriton and I thought to myself that there was really a lack of representation of the art wing in the show. From there, I made more and more to add on to my act, with the light suit and the black light, and the lead paint and so on.

Tess: It really was different, did you have doubts about it?

Chris: Yes, as soon as everyone came backstage from doing their talent they were very pleased, but when I finished with mine, I wasn’t happy with it at all, not knowing how it turned out.

Annika: What was the first thing you thought when you won?

Chris: I was like “Are you sure?” *laughs*

Emily: Who is a better dancer, you or Abri?

Chris: Abri, for sure.

Tess: Would you ever use your pickup line in real life?

Chris: Of course I would. *note his pickup line: “I put the sexy in dyslexia”*

Tess: It would work for sure. What was the main inspiration for your video?

Chris: My inspiration came from just thinking about time travel. I thought it would be funny to argue with myself.

Emily: So one last thing. What is the lasting impression you want to leave for future generations to come?

Chris: That’s tough.

Emily: Yes.

Chris: Okay I got it. People should remember that no matter your GPA, you can can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Chris handles his newfound fame with grace uncharacteristic of a lacrosse star. He holds himself with confidence, but not conceit; pride, but not arrogance; and originality of though that no one can cast a shadow on. If Harriton High School ever had to put all of its faith in one boy, we would challenge you to find another boy so worthy.
