Spunky decor, welcoming atmosphere, and great food…what more could you ask for in a restaurant? Sabrina’s Café fits all of the requirements for a perfect dining experience. Opening just weeks ago and replacing Sam’s Grill in the Wynnewood Shopping Center, Sabrina’s carries on its legacy of delicious brunch food with its fourth restaurant since its first in 2001. Owner Robert De Abreu had decided that a location on the Main Line would be good business because it is more convenient for many customers than having to travel all of the way to Philadelphia. This new addition to De Abreu’s “Sabrina’s Empire” will bring long lines, crowded brunches, and delicious food.

When you walk into Sabrina’s, you are surrounded by a cheerful display of colorful and patterned lights, chalkboards with inspiring messages, and smiling servers. The hostess and waiters are all very nice, making you feel welcome and comfortable for a wonderful dining experience. Because breakfast/brunch is the most popular meal time in the restaurant, you may have to wait for up to an hour, but the delicious food is well worth it. They create a new brunch menu every two weeks and they are well known for their interesting weekly specials. Call about 15 minutes prior to your arrival and ask how long the wait is – the hostess may be able to save you a table if you can be there within 15 minutes. Lunch and dinner are also served every day, and since they are not as popular, there is usually a shorter wait.

Breakfast is the best at Sabrina’s. Everything that I tried was delicious, leaving me wanting another bite. With wide choices of toppling stacks of French toast and pancakes, bagels galore, fluffy omelets, and even vegetarian and vegan options, you might have a hard time deciding what to order. For me, it was an easy choice: the stuffed challah French toast. This delectable, huge dish was sweet and rich, and one of the best meals I have ever had! 

Described on the menu as “Stuffed Challah French Toast with farmer’s cream cheese and topped with bananas and vanilla bean syrup,” this is the definition of a perfect breakfast. However, beware of its size. The four huge slices of French toast, combined into two sandwiches and stuffed with a creamy filling, could well be split between two high school students. The cream cheese filling is the perfect amount of sweetness, mixed with the rich flavor of vanilla and the tropical flavor of bananas. One of the best side orders of the restaurant is the home potatoes. The fresh and tasty potatoes are crispy and perfectly seasoned.
