RAM of the Week: Marks Family
This week we have a special treat for you. We loved featuring twins, so we are back to feature a whole family! We were thinking, hmm, who is the most well liked and awesome family at Harriton? It was an easy answer, as the Marks family has all the spark and pizazz needed to make them the perfect RAMs of the Week. Currently at Harriton, we have three Marks clan members; Victoria, Julia and Willie. Each has their own distinct personality, yet somehow when they get together they fall into a perfect rhythm of stories and laughs. Now, let us get to know the Marks family!
Harriton Banner: How would you ask someone out on a date?
Julia Marks: I’m going to have to quote Evan Rosen. I’d get some guacamole and throw it in their face and say, “You just got guac’d, do you want to go on a date?”
HB: If your family had a street gang, what would you guys be called?
JM: Skram.
Victoria Marks: Skram is Marks spelled backwards.
HB: If you could describe each other as a box of cereal, what would you be?
VM: Lucky Charms! Because we are all special in our own ways. *Willie looks sickened at this statement*
JM: I say Fruit Loops because we are all a little loopy.
HB: What is your favorite rainy day activity?
JM: Board games, popcorn, tea, and M n M’s.
HB: Besides board games? Those are not activities
JM: I don’t know what activities are for you but activities for me are food.
VM: I agree, board games.
Willie Marks: Or watching a movie.
HB: What is the perfect crime that your family would commit?
JM: The perfect crime for our family would probably be to rob Hymie’s.
WM: Getting free stuff at the breakfast table.
HB: What is it like having so many of your family members together in one school?
JM: Not as awesome as if we had the WHOLE Marks family at Harriton.
VM: Yeah, we actually have three cousins in Wisconsin and two are juniors and one is a senior, so if they lived here then we would have seven Marks at out school! But our streak last year was pretty good.
JM: We were about to get jackets.
Annika Iyer: Can I get one?
JM: Ummm. I mean you look like us.
*Laughs*
HB: What house would you be if you were in Harry Potter?
VM: Gryffindor.
JM: I mean #Slytherin.
WM: Well I know Harry just said not Slytherin, so I would say just Gryffindor because Gryffindor is the best. I mean Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff…who is even in there?
JM: *Emotionally* Hufflepuff is for the kindhearted!
HB: What superpower would you guys want?
JM: Flying.
VM: Reading minds.
WM: Reading minds.
HB: Okay, so your whole family starts a company. What would it be?
*All get very excited*
JM: We already determined this like five years ago.
VM: Applesauce and pesto were our grandmother’s specialties, so we would make those, sell them and also sell our grandfathers paintings in his house.
HB: What is your favorite TV show?
VM: Pretty Little Liars, unfortunately.
WM: House of Cards on Netflix.
JM: Penguins of Madagascar. They are so funny.
HB: Tell us a funny family story.
WM: On second Thanksgiving (yes, they had two Thanksgivings), we had dishes to clean after dinner and I don’t live in the same house as Julia so maybe I’m just not as familiar with this but we were doing the dishes and they just blasted the song Baby Beluga.
JM: (Begins to sing)
VM: Or one time our entire family had a debate for literally an hour on the difference between geeks and nerds.
JM: See, nerds are smart but functional in society while Geeks are very smart but are not functional in society.
VM: We are nerds but not geeks.
HB: What is your favorite book?
WM: The Name of the Wind.
HB: We know that you two (directed at Julia and Willie) are running in this year’s election, so why should students vote for you?
JM: Hopefully we do not get out in the preliminaries; that would be AWKWARD. But, have you ever seen me dance?
HB: Yes, we actually have.
JM: Do you not want to see those moves at a pep rally?
HB: That actually is very convincing.
WM: Well, I would like to think that I am a hardworking person..(Julia cuts in)
JM: And he is also Australian.
WM: Oh yeah! I am also Australian!
HB: (To Victoria) Are you excited to go to college next year? Kudos on getting into Yale!
VM: Yeah, I’m really excited!!
HB: Personal statement?
All Three: *After much deliberation* Shout out to graduated Jake, Richard, Jim and John. Also, good luck to the upcoming Marks, Sarah and Lizzie.
