In the wake of his death, the Harriton community reminisced about the legacy of Robin Williams. Both students and staff enjoyed his work and will always think of him as an inspiration and a great actor. Although Robin Williams’s tragic death left many with unanswered questions, one thing we know for sure is that he was an incredible man; Robin Williams will forever be missed.

From their responses, it is clear that Harriton students continue to feel the light of the award-winning actor even after his passing.

Gavriel Rubenstein said, “He was a really funny person who always made me laugh!”  The lightheartedness that Robin Williams brought to his audience, specifically the Harriton Community, gave students a break from stressful study nights and reminded them to find humor in even the smallest aspects of life.

Taylor Pearl also thought that, “He was inspiring and his presence and performance always enhanced the lives around him.” Robin Williams’s bright energy and optimism on stage influenced everyone around Harriton. His positivity inspired students to remain optimistic, even when their tests came back half a percent off of receiving a B.

When reflecting about favorite parts Robin Williams played, Patrick Bernicker said, “’Jumanji’ was a classic!” It is breathtaking to think about how someone could accomplish so much and have such a positive effect on people. His movies live on past his death, both digitally and in the memories of fans like those at Harriton.

Mr. Dennis Bannon even said that, “‘Mork and Mindy’ was [his] favorite.” As you can see, everyone around the Harriton community, including teachers, has been affected by this awful death. Everyone here will remember and re-watch the classic roles in which Robin Williams starred and will continue to pay tribute to this wonderful man.

Robin Williams was more than just an actor and comedian; he was a devoted father and husband who always tried to bring positive energy to the people around him. He would light up any set and any group of people with his humor. One thing that Robin Williams was known for was his improvised stream-of-consciousness comedy dialogue, where he could impersonate or come up with the perfect line.  He won countless phenomenal awards: Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for “Good Will Hunting”, Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture for “Mrs. Doubtfire”, 3 Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album, among many more. Robin Williams brought light and happiness to the Harriton community. He will be missed, but here at Harriton, he will also be remembered.
