Hanukkah has begun and Christmas and Kwanza are right around the corner! Philadelphia and the Main Line are full of fun holiday exhibits, games, and experiences to enjoy with family and friends. Sam Ebby says that it’s going to be a cold winter, so warm up with some of these awesome activities and shows in the area!

Disney’s Frozen was released on November 27th, 2013. That’s over a year ago.  However, the story is as popular as ever. Now you can see even more Frozen this holiday season by attending the Disney on Ice performance at the Wells Fargo Center.

The heartwarming film can now be seen live and with even more ice than ever. To make it even better, there are special guest appearances by the most beloved Disney Princesses and Disney characters. Since no one has been able to “let it go,” why not see this awesome show?

If you love ballet, candy, and magic, you should consider going to the Pennsylvania Ballet’s performance of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.  This show is enjoyable for children and adults.

Be transported to the Land of Sweets after a suspenseful battle between toy soldiers and mice, and witness breathtaking performances by some of the most talented ballet dancers in the world. Best of all, remember what it felt like to be a kid again as you are subject to the dreamy world of The Nutracker.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is also a great place to spend your time this holiday season. All throughout December, there is caroling through the galleries, holiday card making stations, and even musical performances.

One of the most popular events at the museum is the Gallery Tour: Christmas Story in Art.  During this tour, viewers are guided through an exhibit that looks at works of art that tell the story of Christmas. The museum also offers a Festival of Lights concert where a New-York band performs festive music for all who want to hear.

There are even special events for music lovers. The Kimmel Center is hosting a series of free (yes, free) family friendly fun activities. These include performances from the Philadelphia Orchestra, visits with Santa, international traditions, festival of lights, and the craziest of all, the Tuba Christmas, featuring more than 100 tubas in Commonwealth Plaza.

The Kimmel Center is aiming to incorporate all family traditions into its constant fun and exciting attractions. There are over 80 activities, ticketed events, and a month-long celebration of a great season!

You now have ideas for how to spend your time with all you loved ones this month. There are hundreds more activities to check out and explore around Philadelphia and the Main Line. Have a great holiday season!
