Meet Mr. Harriton Contestants Cody Wax & Sam Siegel
Cody Wax – senior
Cody has proven to be an enigma of the competition, remaining cool and collected while also excited for the upcoming night. Although a man of few words, Cody is sure to wow the audience with his energy and excitement for the show.
Harriton Banner: What is a day in your life like?
Cody Wax: Wake up. Eat. Learn. Eat. Learn. Eat. Practice. Eat. Soccer. Eat. Work. Eat. Sleep.
HB: Why did you try out for Mr. Harriton?
CW: I thought it was mandatory.
HB: Do you have a talent that cannot be performed?
CW: N/A.
HB: What is your favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far?
CW: Watching Will “dance.”
HB: Who is a competitor to watch out for (other than you)?
CW: I guess Mario.
HB: If you could choose the theme what would it be?
CW: Childhood cartoons.
HB: Why are you the next Mr. Harriton?
CW: Because I have gone to Harriton for four years now and have shown the most Harriton spirit of all the contestants.
HB: What is your favorite school activity, sport, or club (besides Mr. Harriton)?
CW: Physics Olympics (but only with Jon D.-R. and Noah Karpel).
HB: Personal statement?
CW: I’m Cody. I tend to keep my personal life private, so I have nothing to say, except for that Matthew Binnion is a whale and that I bribed the judges so question number 5 is irrelevant. Thanks and have a nice day.
Sam Siegel – senior
With humor and talent to match, Sam has proven himself to be a fierce competitor in the Mr. Harriton competition. Will he be the one bringing home the coveted crown on February 26th? Come and see for yourself!
Harriton Banner: What is a day in your life like?
Sam Siegel: I wake up from a dream within a dream only to realize I am still in a dream. I wake up to reality and the alarm clock shows I only have ten minutes to get to school. I get to school fifteen minutes later. Half of my breakfast is on my car seat and the other half is stained on my lap. School is a blur of power naps and haunting memories of last year’s Pennsylvania gym fitness tests. I then go to Mr. Harriton practice and dance with passion, but always finish second to Will Snyder. I go home, open my homework, close my homework, take a “thirty minute nap,” and wake up in panicked sweat only to realize there are ten minutes to get to school.
HB: Why did you try out for Mr. Harriton?
SS: I have heard nothing but great things about the Mr. Harriton competition and thought it would be a great way for me to both step out of my comfort zone and make new friends.
HB: Do you have a talent that cannot be performed?
SS: I can run a nine minute mile at the Welsh Valley track when the conditions are just right.
HB: What is your favorite thing about Mr. Harriton so far?
SS: My favorite thing about Mr. Harriton has been meeting new people and making new friends.
HB: Who is a competitor to watch out for (other than you)?
SS: Rumor has it that contestant Will “Bill” Snyder has a tattoo of the Philadelphia SEPTA public transportation map on his hip…his extensive knowledge of public transportation is threatening.
HB: If you could choose the theme what would it be?
SS: Silkworms v. the Silk Road.
HB: Why are you the next Mr. Harriton?
SS: Besides four years of Harriton football, I never lose.
HB: What is your favorite school activity/sport/club/etc. (besides Mr. Harriton)?
SS: My favorite school activity is jazz band because I get to be blessed by the sounds and sights of Jacob Diamond-Reivich.
HB: Personal statement?
SS: Show up and show out. It is going to be an experience you do not want to miss!
