How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
This weekend, the Harriton Theatre Company will be performing the wildly fun and convivial spring musical “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” Though past shows produced by HTC are always a lively bash, this show is an especially comical, amusing, and heartfelt piece.
When J. Pierrepont Finch, a simple yet cunning window washer, applies for a job at the World Wide Wicket Company, the world’s largest producer of wickets, he finds himself swiftly climbing the ladder of success, surpassing those who have worked years longer than him.
Along the way, he encounters foes, such as the callow Bud Frump, and finds romantic interest the enamored Rosemary. However, there’s more to the World Wide Wicket Company than friends and foes; with bosses sneaking around with frivolous secretaries, marketing plans that go disastrously wrong, and the catastrophic effects of an empty coffee pot, “How To Succeed” is certainly a smash. The deft mix of business talk and musical theatre conveys an ultimately universal truth; we’re all part of the great brotherhood of man.
Come see HTC’s “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” this Thursday at 7, Friday at 7, and Saturday at 2 and 7. Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for adults. Hope to see you there!
