In just a week, Harriton High School students will go on winter break, returning only after the new year begins. There are a multitude of ways a student can spend this time, whether it is traveling somewhere warmer, catching up on lost sleep, or celebrating the holidays and exchanging prized gifts with family and close friends.

The Harriton Banner asked several students to find out how they will spend this exciting time and where exactly their plans will take them.

Roshni Parikh: “I’m going to Florida to visit my grandparents and to go to the Orange Bowl.”

Ava Schwartz: “I am staying home for most of it, but going to New York City for one day to explore and try new things!”

Dani Friedman: “I’m going to Colorado, and I can’t wait to ski and snowboard the whole time!”

Anna Bernicker: “I’m going to the Poconos with my family and going skiing!”

Caroline Bluestein: “I’m going to Florida to visit my grandparents!”

Claire Weiss: “I’m going to Virginia for Christmas, and then I’ll be back home for New Years so that I can ring in 2017 with my friends!”

Rachel Brown: “I’m staying home, relaxing all day and sleeping all night. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Joel Danilewitz: “Sleeping, eating, crying. It’s gonna be a blast!”

Ayla Bleznak: “I’m going to Florida to scuba dive, surf, and try a bunch of other fun stuff.”

Connie Richards: “I’m not sure what my plans are, all I know is I need a break from the normal routine.”

Jacob Newmark: “I’m going to visit my grandparents and visit colleges in Massachusetts.”

Maddy Fisher: “I’m going to Connecticut to visit my cousins, and I’ll also make sure to get lots of hot cocoa and to ice-skate with my friends!”

Whether you are exploring an unfamiliar place or simply taking a break from your typical routine, winter break is a time to enjoy yourself and have fun before the endless hours of midterm studying begin. See you in the new year, Harriton!
