What Would You Change About Harriton?

Harriton High School is always open to change and excited to hear feedback from the community. Students and teachers should voice any problems they might have with our school, so that the community can do everything in their power to fix the problems. Afterall, a happy student body makes a happy school! The student body and teachers are Harriton’s community, so I asked a few community members the burning question: If you could change anything about Harriton, what would you change?

Anna Swider:

“I would hope to create a larger student involvement with school events.”

Duncan Miller:

“I would probably say to have a longer amount of time to travel between classes.”

Sophia Udicious:

“It is hard to get ahold of the NHS tutors, so I would make it more accessible.”

Jake Waldman:

“I think it would be a good idea to make the start time an hour later, at 8:30 instead of 7:30, that way even though I go to sleep late from homework, I can wake up later and get more sleep and be more alert in class.”

Mr. Hennessy:

“I’ve been to a lot of school sporting events, and I think we should have more school spirit, specifically during the games.”

Willie Marks:

“I think that there is too much of a focus on the top students and the students who have more difficulty in class, and that the majority of students don’t get the same amount of attentiveness focused on them as either extreme gets.”

Kit Meiler:

“I would change the fact that so many kids are sleep deprived. There should be more importance placed on sleep because i feel like people don’t realize how important it is, especially within the culture of Harriton.”

Ellie Willkomm:

“I wish that underclassmen had more variety when choosing their classes, besides electives.”

Harriton is a great place, but of course there’s always room for improvement. Luckily, our school has always been receptive to student ideas and input, and that is something we would certainly not change about Harriton.
