Harriton Frisbee Team at Hip Hop Tournament

On Saturday April 26, the Harriton High School ultimate Frisbee team, the Skylanders, participated in PHUEL’s Hip Hop tournament. The Hip Hop tournament is one of the biggest events of the year for the Skylanders, and the team certainly played with a sense of its importance. The Skylanders swept their pool, going 3-0 in the round robin stage of the tournament. Harriton made it to the championship round where they lost to Upper Merion.

In the first game of the round robin, the Skylanders were able to defeat the Radnor B Team by a score of 10-8. In their second match, the Skylanders took down Cardinal O’Hara with a huge 13-3 victory. In their third match of the round robin stage, they won by a large margin of 13-6 over Strath Haven. Handler Dan Cohn contributed by throwing many touchdowns, while cutters Nick Johnson and Hugh Downs caught a vast majority of the disks for scores. The sweep of their pool helped the Skylanders advance to the championship match against Upper Merion. Unfortunately, the Upper Merion Frisbee team was too much for the Skylanders to handle. The Skylanders ultimately lost to Upper Merion by a score of 3-13.

The Skylanders certainly accomplished a lot in PHUEL’s Hip Hop tournament. All the odds were against them, as the team only had 8 players on the roster in a game where seven players are on the field at all times. However, nothing stopped the Skylanders from dominating their pool and fighting their way to the championship!
