Girls’ Field Hockey Season Recap

The Harriton girls’ field hockey team finished their fall season with an outstanding record of 7-3-2 in their conference and an overall record of 10-6-2. For a good stretch, they were first in the Central League. The team also graduated 10 seniors: Haley Morris, Meredith Morris, Maggie Valentine, Akosua Mante, Tess Laren, Grace Biegger, Robyn Clark, Carly Adams, Savannah Brown, and Laura Lasprogata. This was one of the biggest senior classes ever.

The seniors helped the Rams go undefeated for their first six games in the Central League. The team continued to succeed for the rest of their season, qualifying them for districts. One highlight was their 3-1 win over Radnor for the first time in Harriton history. Unfortunately, in the first round of district playoffs, the team took a hard-fought loss to Bishop Shanahan.

While the girls’ season may have ended early, our favorite field hockey team is  already looking forward to the ‘16-17 season. With up-and-coming players like sophomore midfielder Meg Willcox set to continue the legacy of leaving seniors, the team’s future looks very bright.
