Lucy is a new movie coming out this year, starring Scarlett Johansson and directed by Luc Besson. It will be released the eighth of August in the United States.  The plot is intense and complex, and one of the most interesting you are sure to have seen in a while.

The film is set in a world run by drug dealers and mobs.  When the protagonist, Lucy (Johansson), who is currently living in Taipei, Taiwan, is forced to carry a packet of drugs for one of the gangs, it leaks into her system after breaking and transforms her into a superhuman.  Instead of using only 10% of her brain, she can use 28% — and the number continues to grow. The movie is a thriller that is sure to make you equally confused and intrigued as everything human about Lucy disappears while her intellect continues to expand.

She starts gaining special powers, such as the ability to access data from cell phones in thin air, taking in huge amounts of information in short periods of time, changing her appearance, and killing people with a single thought.

Morgan Freeman and Scarlett Johansson play the starring roles, featuring music from Éric Serra and cinematography by Thierry Arbogast.  This movie is sure to be a thought-provoking, if not amazing, feature.
