Wing Bowl

By Madison Rosenthal

Wednesday, October 24 was no ordinary day at Harriton. During advisory, students had the pleasure of witnessing their classmates and teachers stuffing their faces uncontrollably with chicken wings.

The lucky participants in this event were freshmen Will Synder and Coby Levit; sophomores Megan Boni and Michael Lipson; juniors Felix Rosenthal and Sabrina Tabasso; seniors Jeremy Weinstock and Cat Dolan; and teachers Mr, Curyto, Mr. Scullin, Ms. Vogel, and Mr. Schweitzer.

The contestants participated in a competition of who could eat the most chicken wings within the given time (five minutes). Although some students were envious of their peers’ opportunity to eat free chicken wings, others found the sight revolting. “It was exciting, but I found myself suppressing the urge to throw up,” says Abri Bernstein, a junior.

Even though the event received mixed reviews by students, the participants, especially the winners, should be proud of their eating efforts. Mr. Scullin, the reigning champion, took the coveted first place spot, while Jeremy Weinstock took second and Mr. Curyto took third.
