Tragic Car Accident, 3 Dead

On November 27, in Latham, New York, high school senior Bailey Wind had just celebrated her one-year anniversary with boyfriend Chris Stewart with a romantic dinner; little did she know that she would have to say goodbye to her boyfriend so quickly.

While the two were driving home from their school basketball game, along with fellow school friends, Deanna Rivers and Matt Hardy, they were rear-ended by an SUV, causing their car to roll over several times.

After waking to find herself lodged under the car, it took approximately two hours to relieve her from the dangerous situation. Stewart and Rivers were both found dead, while Hardy was seriously injured.

Wind’s neck is broken, although she is not paralyzed. Permanent titanium plates are broken in her jaw, and she is missing several teeth. There is hope for her smile to be restored through dental implants. Wind is getting better physically, but emotionally, is having a tough time moving on from her boyfriend’s death.

Stewart was looking to play football at at New Hampshire or SUNY Cortland. Wind has been recruited by the diving team at the University of Tennessee. While Stewart is unable to play football, Wind will continue to Tennessee next fall.

Through the tough times, many people have been reaching out to Bailey Wind. Her friends and family completely support her. People have been contacting her, sending their condolences, after hearing about the accident from social networking. Celebrity, Miley Cyrus, tweeted “Sending ❤ to @baileywind,” causing many fans and supporters to express their sympathy.
