Rebirth of the Latin Club

With a new and spirited Latin teacher, Mrs. Cambria, teaching at Harriton, a revival of one of Harriton’s old clubs has occured— the Latin Club!  This club is for students who love to study Latin and enjoy going on fun, educational trips outside of school.  It started last year when members went to a competition at Dickinson College and competed against other schools in arts, songs, and a mythology bowl.  It was their first year participating, and they won second place overall, encouraging them to continue for more! They hope to do as well, if not better, this year and go to more Latin Competitions.  Sophomore Will Marks is the president of the Latin Club with Dan Cohn as the Vice President. They oversee all the planning and decisions made, as well as organize the meetings.  Other leadership positions include Aaron Diamond-Reivich as the Secretary, Teddy Kotler as the Treasurer, and Alexa Foust and Kimmie Krane as editors.  Many of the competitions they will attend include a section for writing, as well as different sections for art and fact knowledge. There is something for everyone to participate in, especially with all the events planned for this year.  So far they have scheduled a date to go to a competition at Yale in November and are planning a trip to Rome this summer. If anyone is interested in joining Latin club, see Mrs. Cambria or any of the officers to get information on meetings and events!  Carpe Diem!
