The Harriton Cross Country team had a successful day at the PIAA District Championships last Friday, October 26th. The District meet was held at the beautiful Lehigh University Murray H. Goodman Campus in Northampton County, PA. All of Harriton’s runners trained especially hard for this race since preseason back in August.

The day was filled with excitement as two of Harriton’s runners qualified for the PIAA State Cross Country Championships in Hershey: Sam Kartsonis, a junior, came in 29th place of the AAA Boys Race with an impressive 16:03.70 5k, and Michelle Qin, a senior, came in 20th place of the AAA Girls Race also with an astounding 18:57.10 5k.

Some other notable performances were by Guillermo Ribiero-Vecino and Ethan McKeever, who both had great races. Overall, the majority of our runners gained personal records at the race, which is an accomplishment we all should be proud of.
