Science Olympiad Wins State Title

This past weekend, the Harriton Science Olympiad team competed at the Pennsylvania Science Olympiad at Juniata College.  Harriton took the state tile and placing 1st overall by winning medals in 20 of the 23 events contested.

This earns Harriton an invitation to the National Science Olympiad on May 31-Jun 1 at Cornell University.

On a side note, the Harriton team led a very strong showing from the entire Lower Merion School District. Lower Merion placed 3rd in the high school division.  Bala Cynwyd placed 3rd and Welsh Valley 11th in the middle school division.  That is an amazing showing by Lower Merion schools overall.

The Harriton team members will continue to work very hard as they shift into a final gear to make a push for national title at Cornell. Coaches Mr. Gauvin, Ms. Lesch, Mr. MacNichol, and Mr. Powers remain confident in the team,
