Rough Start for Boys Soccer at Southern Lehigh

Last year the Harriton boys soccer team got off to a quick start to their 2010 season, winning two 1-0 decisions at the Southern Lehigh tournament. This time around, perhaps due to some heavy senior losses, the Rams could not repeat their success, dropping two tournament matches on the opening days of their 2011 season.

The Rams (0-2) were undeniably a senior-heavy team last year, and the losses of stars such as Dan Kursman and goalkeeper Dan Posner will be difficult to overcome in the early going. The team managed little offensive firepower in both their 2-0 loss to Bethlehem Liberty and the 2-1 decision that followed the next day. Still, as the season progresses the Rams’ new blood should start to fill the gaps and put Harriton soccer back on the winning track– September 8th’s league opener against Strath Haven will be very telling for a young squad looking to make a splash this year.
