Cross Country Tops Marple, Falls to LM

Both the girls and boys cross country teams were without one of their best runners for Wednesday’s meet against Marple Newtown, Lower Merion and Haverford, but still came away with a third place finish to open the season 1-2.

Junior Max Norris, who solidified himself as one of the best high school runners in the state at the Viking Invitational, led the way for the boys team with a first place finish. Without his partner in crime Peter Downs, the Rams’ next three finishers were Jerry Delaney, Jack Curtis, and Cameron Trainer at 20th, 21st, and 28th.

The girls team was missing top runner Ally McLaughlin, but still had senior Madelaine Pisani finish in ninth place. Fellow Rams Jane Henderson, Sam Lincoln, and Karen Irvine all finished within thirty seconds of their leader.
