Boys Cross Country Clinches Winning Season

The Harriton boys cross country team defeated Upper Darby and Ridley on Wednesday to finish 6-5 on the year, their first ever winning record in the Central League. Despite starting off their season 2-5, the Rams rallied with convincing victories over Radnor and Garnet Valley before clinching it at Upper Darby’s home course.

The MVP of the regular season has no doubt been Max Norris, who did not lose a single league meet all year and has a state championship in his sights. Other key contributors include seniors Peter Downs and Jack Curtis (who finished second and fourth, respectively, on Wednesday). The squad will begin the first of a few postseason meets at Central League Championships next week.

The girls team had a strong showing at Upper Darby as well, sweeping their first meet since 2004 to finish 3-8 on the season.
