Cross Country Takes Salesianum Invitational

The girls’ and boys’ cross country teams of Harriton had a solid showing this Saturday at the Salesianum Invitational at Brandywine State Park, in Delaware. In 95% humidity, which made 85 degrees feel like 90, the girls and boys of the cross country team conquered the rolling hills of one of the toughest, most difficult courses in the nation.

On the freshman side for boys, Bruce Herriot placed 1st in a race of over 100 boys. Teammates Jan Terweisch and Ethan Ginsberg finished 15th and 19th, respectively.

Sophomore Kyleen Considine placed 13th in the JV girls A race, also out of over 100 runners. In the JV girls B race, sophomore Remy Hill placed 6th in a race of over 120 runners.

On the boys’ varsity side, junior Michael Walsh placed 19th in a talented field of about 120 runners, leading the Boys’ Varsity team to a 5th place overall finish.On the girls’ varsity side, juniors Maura Henderson, Kate Clark, and Jane Henderson placed 6th, 18th, and 21st respectively in a field of over 70 runners. While teammates Ali Zamsky (sophomore), and freshman Tasha Greene placed 17th and 19th, respectively. All five girls, plus freshman Claudia Conrad and junior Emily Rush, led the varsity girls to a 2nd place overall finish in a stacked field of 12 teams.
