Lady Rams Win Thriller At the Buzzer

The Harriton girls’ basketball team won an amazing game over Strath Haven Friday night 48-45. Fighting to avenge their previous loss to Strath Haven, the team fought hard on both ends of the court from the very beginning to the end. The Rams held onto the lead for most of the game, but with only a few minutes left, Strath Haven earned a slight 3-point lead. With just a minute left, Katie Melvin swished a 3 to tie the score at 39. Unfortunately, back on defense, a shooting foul was called on Melvin that put her on the bench with 5 fouls and gave Strath Haven 2 foul shots. The anxiety of the crowd jumped through the roof when Strath Haven made both shots with only 9.1 seconds left. The Rams promptly inbounded the ball to Sabrina Tabasso who drove straight to the basket with a game-saving shot to send the team to overtime.

The Rams grabbed the lead in overtime and held onto it until the last few seconds of the game. A foul off of a rebound put Strath Haven on the line again, and again Strath Haven sunk both of them. The game was still tied at 45. Sabrina Tabasso sprinted down the floor with about 10 seconds left and threw an amazing assist to Olivia Tevis with less than 2 seconds left. Tevis launched the ball at the basket from behind the 3-point line and swished the buzzer beater. It was an amazing game by the Lady Rams, who are now 15-3 for the season.
