Rams Improve to 5-0 in a Nail-Biting Road Win

On Friday, December 12, the Harriton Rams (4-0) continued their undefeated start with a 53-50 road victory over the Strath Haven Panthers (0-4). Even though the final score only had a margin of 3 points, the game was not that close. The Rams got off to a shaky start, as Strath Haven took a 17-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. At that point, only Jordan Wright had scored for the Rams. Right before the half, the Panthers had a double digit lead. Suddenly, the momentum of the game swung the Rams’ way after a huge 3-point shot by Jesse Bregman. Still, the Rams went into the locker room down by a score of 23-31. The Rams were able to slowly decrease the Panthers’ lead during the third quarter through great defense, including 6 steals from guard Jordan Wright. Unfortunately, Wright left the game late in the third quarter with an injury and would not return until the fourth quarter.  With just 3.5 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter, and a 50-50 stalemate, Jordan Wright hit a game-sealing 3 point shot for Harriton to continue their undefeated season, and for Strath Haven, their winless season. Wright had a stunning 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 block!

The Harriton High School basketball team got their second victory on the road, as they have a long home stand ahead of them. The game against the Academy Park Knights is shaping up to be a great one, as both teams share the same record of 5-0. The Rams have had a great start to their season, and there has been nothing but optimism from the players, coaches and the fans. Go Rams!
