Boys’ Basketball Finishes Season, 5-15, in a Year of Rebuilding

The Harriton boys’ basketball team recently finished their season with a record of 5-15. Despite what the numbers might say, the boys played hard all season, rallying behind star player Will Esposto and the senior leadership of Tyler Allen and Montgomery Brown. Some of the season’s highlights include the 44-40 win over Haverford and the 49-40 win away at Springfield.

This proved a crucial rebuilding year. Many players came onto the radar as key players. After spending his sophomore season on the JV team, Mykah Tomassetti spent a huge chunk of this year in the starting lineup, providing precise shooting and smart play.

The team is built on a core of juniors who are on track to have a strong senior season. Esposto is the cornerstone of the team, along with Idris Ranson and Will Thomas. The entire starting lineup, with the exception of Montgomery Brown, will be back next season, so look for the basketball team to shock Southeastern Pennsylvania next year.

Senior guard Spencer Henry, known for his defense and basketball IQ, said of his team’s prospects for next year, “Our team was young this year with a lot of juniors, but the future looks bright with young talent and players really starting to buy in. Central better be ready next year.”

Only time will tell if his prediction is true.
